This Luxury Uganda tour with Gorilla Tracking has been designed with your comfort and sense of adventure in mind. From the time you are picked up at the airport, you will have a dedicated car and driver/guide at your disposal to take you to all the exciting places in the programme.

Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe - Uganda

Your driver/guide will be at Entebbe Airport to pick you up from your flight and transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore the sites in and around Entebbe.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the West of Uganda to Kibale Forest. The drive on this 2nd day of Luxury Uganda Tour is incredibly scenic, passing through villages, lush green forests and hills dotted with tea plantations which characterize this part of Uganda.

You will stay at a wonderful lodge, just outside the town of Fort Portal, with spacious rooms and amazing views over one of the crater lakes in this area!

Day 3
Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

After an early breakfast you will embark on a chimpanzee tracking adventure.

Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees.

An experienced forest ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning or afternoon depending on availability of chimpanzee permits. During the forest walk you might also see other monkey species that live in this forest. Once located, you will spend a full hour with the chimps.

In the afternoon you will go for a swamp walk (2-3 hours) in Bigodi. During the walk you are likey to see different primate species and bird species.

Optional: Chimpanzee Habituation experience:

Instead of the normal chimpanzee tracking you can opt do the chimpanzee habituation tracking at an extrafee of only $50 us dollars per person. The chimpanzee habituation experience takes all day you will be in the company of the habituators and the chimp sightings is guaranteed. Book this in time because only 6 persons per day are allowed to go.

Day 4
Drive to Queen Elizabeth N.P.

In the morning, you can either relax at your lodge, make a crater lake hike or visit a nearby tea plantation, where you will be able to assist the tea pickers and learn about how leaves are selected for the highest quality (All activities of this morning are at your own cost). You will then continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has prolific game, including Gazelle, Uganda Kob, Warthog and Waterbuck.

You stay overnight at the beautiful Mweya Safari Lodge, located in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Mweya peninsula. Watch wildlife from your private verandah and fall asleep to the roaring of lions on the distant savannah. This truly is Africa!

In the late evening there will be a game-drive in the park.

Day 5
Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

Early rise for your early morning game drive in time to see the first rays of light. You will search for all the wildlife in the park and you will likely see Elephants, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs.

Later return to the lodge for breakfast.

In the afternoon there will be a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Edward.

You will see a lot of hippos, as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour.

Day 6
Ishasha - Tree-climbing lions

This morning you have plenty of time to do one of the optional activities listed on day 5 or simply make another game drive. After lunch you will proceed to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, to an area called Ishasha. The Ishasha area is famous for its tree-climbing lions.

To escape from the heat during the day, the lions here have learned how to climb the fig trees. If you are lucky you might spot a few during your game drive, so keep your eyes open and look up! Besides these famous lions, there is other interesting wildlife to be seen, like buffalo elephants and the Uganda kob.

After you game drive, looking for the tree climbing lions in Ishasha, you will head for Ishasha Wilderness Camp, a very luxurious lodge with wonderful views over the savannah and a river packed with hippos! After a well-deserved lunch at the lodge, you will go on an afternoon game drive.

Day 7
Drive to Bwindi Forest

On this day of your Luxury Uganda Tour with Gorilla Tracking you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds.

Day 8
Gorilla Tracking Day

Today is the gorilla tracking day!

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on your gorilla tracking from the park guides. You will then embark on your gorilla trek with the expert leadership of the park guides who will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Your gorilla tracking will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family.

The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s endangered Mountain gorillas.

Day 9
Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you travel to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest parks. It is home to zebra, eland and impala, as well as an abundance of other wildlife. The lake itself is teeming with hippos and crocodiles! Upon entering the park, you drive along tracks searching for animals on your way to your accommodation.

Mihingo Lodge features ten rooms built on wooden platforms with stilts. From the dining and pool area, you can enjoy the view of a west-ward oriented valley and its stunning sunsets over Lake Mburo N.P.

Day 10
Safari Bush walk - Departure

Lake Mburo N.P. is one of two parks in Uganda where it is permitted to go for a bush walk with an experienced ranger. The rangers are willing to share their wildlife knowledge with you like which footprints and animal droppings belong to which animal and you will approach wildlife at such close range.

Optional activities include: relaxing at your lodge, a mountainbike safari ($15 pp extra for 2 hours) or going on a horseback riding safari in the park (US$ 60 pp extra for 2 hours).

After brunch at the lodge, you will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (Airport) stopping at the equator for the photo opportunities and a bit of souvenir shopping.

Accommodation for tonight is not included. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is late in the evening. If you would like us to book one (or more) nights in Kampala and/or Entebbe, please let us know.

We use both standard 4×4 customized safari vans and 4×4 luxury customized safari Land cruisers with pop-up roofs for maximum game viewing, wildlife filming and photography and easy for taking as many photos as you can. Our Landcruisers are also fitted with charging system for your cameras, phones and also every client is guaranteed a window seat for easy view.

Our drive/guides are very professionally and well trained, we know every successful safari needs a great guide, majority of the comments from our clients regarding our services are centered on the professionalism of our guides.

• 02 children under 4 years old (staying with parents): 75% of the price per an adult
• From 9-year-old: price as an adult.children below 15 years are not allowed to trek gorillas


  • A deposit of 20% on the safari cost is required when booking a safari. If a safari includes gorilla tracking and chimpanzee tracking then the deposit should include the full cost of the gorilla permit fee (US$600) and chimpanzee permit fee (US$150) per pemit per person as well. The remaining balance must be paid 45 days prior departure. For any bookings within 45 days of departure, the full tour amount will be charged up on booking.
    • Payment in cash: Cash shall be paid at our office or will be collected at your hotel.
    • Credit card: credit card fee is applied to the total amount and different from type of card
    • Bank transfer: Please note that the bank fee in Uganda, and the international bank for transmission are covered by the client.

What to bring:

  • Trail shoes or running shoes with a good solid grip and good support and cotton socks are the most versatile and comfortable footwear for this trip. Some people prefer their well broken-in hiking boots
  • A wide-brimmed or peaked hat for sun protection.
  • Poncho or raincoat just in case, especially if gorilla trekking is on your itinerary
  • Light sweater, jacket or sweatshirt for cooler evenings. It cools off quite drastically in the higher elevations
  • Binoculars
  • Sunglasses, Sun cream
